Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of LucidPal ("app", "service"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service​

LucidPal is an AI-powered personal assistant for iOS. It provides on-device and cloud AI chat, notes, habits, calendar integration, and related productivity features.

2. Eligibility​

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU) to use LucidPal. By using the app, you confirm you meet this requirement.

3. Account​

You sign in with Google or Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and account. Notify us at wassimmehanna@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Subscriptions & Billing​

Auto-Renewal​

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account is charged at confirmation of purchase and at the start of each renewal period.

Managing / Cancelling​

Manage or cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access until then.

Refunds​

All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not issue refunds directly.

Price Changes​

We may change subscription prices. Apple will notify you of price changes before your renewal date, and your subscription will not renew at the new price without your consent.

5. Acceptable Use​

You agree not to:

  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code
  • Use the app to generate content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, or violates third-party rights
  • Attempt to bypass subscription gates or abuse trial periods
  • Interfere with the app's infrastructure or backend services

6. AI-Generated Content​

LucidPal uses AI (both on-device and cloud) to generate responses. You acknowledge:

  • AI responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated
  • AI-generated content is not professional advice (medical, legal, financial, etc.)
  • You are responsible for verifying any AI output before acting on it
  • We make no warranty about the accuracy or fitness of AI responses for any particular purpose

7. Third-Party Integrations​

Optional integrations (Gmail, Exchange, Immich, web search) are provided as-is. We are not responsible for:

  • Changes to third-party APIs that affect functionality
  • Data loss or errors from third-party services
  • Third-party terms of service compliance (you are responsible for complying with Google's, Microsoft's, etc.)

8. Your Content​

You own all content you create in the app (notes, chat messages, habits, etc.). By syncing content to our cloud, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and transmit it solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not claim ownership of your content and do not use it to train AI models.

9. Intellectual Property​

The LucidPal app, its design, code, and branding are our intellectual property. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights in the app beyond the limited license to use it as described.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties​

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

11. Limitation of Liability​

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR PROFITS ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability, so the above may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification​

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, or damages (including legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the app in a manner that harms a third party.

13. Termination​

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time via Settings. Upon termination, your right to use the app ceases and we will delete your cloud data within 30 days.

14. Governing Law & Disputes​

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

EU/UK users: Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory consumer rights under EU/UK law. You may also contact your national consumer protection authority or use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

15. Changes to Terms​

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified via in-app notice or email at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
